HOLIDAY SAFETY

Several years ago an acquaintance of mine was robbed in a mall parking lot after a day of holiday shopping.  Please be very careful when running your holiday errands.  We are all experiencing some of the toughest times ever, including the thieves.  There are people out there who make a living preying on others and then there are the new-comers who have found themselves in this storm and see no way out.   No matter what, stay alert and use common sense.

Shop with companions, park near entrances whenever possible, shop during the daytime, place purchases in trunk before exiting car, leave the glam bags at home (travel light)….here are some more tips from http://www.ehow.com/

  • If you must shop alone park close to the Mall’s entrance. Bad guys lurk around parking lots looking for victims.
  • Lock all doors when exiting the car to enter the mall. Check the backseat and make sure the doors are secure. Thieves walk through
parking lots searching for unlocked car doors. Don’t let it be yours!
  • Don’t tempt criminals. Avoid walking down dark isolated hallways in the mall near closing time.
  • Never go to a secluded Mall bathroom alone. And if you take a child shopping always accompany them to the bathroom for safety purposes.
  • After shopping join a crowd as they leave the Mall and walk to your car with crowds if possible for personal security.
  • If you are loaded with packages find a security guard and ask him to accompany you to your car.
  • Always check your cars back seat before entering. If anything appears suspicious return to the mall quickly. And inform the security guards about your suspicions.
  • Thanks for visiting Peace & blessings during this holiday season, be safe and Live4beauty!

Caviar Taste on Hot Dog Budget

Call it what you want but when you begin to see high-end clothing Designers creating partnerships with local retail chains like Walmart – the reality of today’s economy has taken hold.  Sure it could be business building , reinvention, transition but not even the most dedicated designer clothing hound remains loyal to the high-priced shopping spree……they have now joined the budget conscious.  When I hear celebrities in the media raving about purchasing clothing at one of my favorite fashion hautes, I know I’m on the right track.   I have always loved the classic wrap dresses by Norma Kamali but I would not/could not pay the $200 price tag.  She now has that same dress for less in Walmart and who can really tell the difference especially after you spice it up with some great accessories!  By the way, I have two for less than the price of one from the high-end department store.  So my friends, I’m here to say you can still satisfy your designer fashion appetite, keep some of that much needed cash in your wallet, forego the charge card and get that same great look.

Check this out:  Anna Sui, Jean Paul Gaultier, Carlos Falchi for TARGET —  Miley Cyrus teamed with Max Azria (BCBG fame), Norma Kamali for WALMART – Jimmy Choo for H&M – Lela Rose, Christian Siriano for PAYLESS SHOES —  Liz Claiborne, Jones, Nicole Miller, Ralph Lauren (American Living) for JC PENNEY.   If this doesn’t entice you please free your mind and visit one of my favorites, TJMaxx or Marshall’s – loaded with designer fashion and the price is right!  As always, Live 4 Beauty……………
